What comes spilling out when I'm frustrated, made fun of, inconvenienced, or hurt? Is my natural response to be angry or defensive? Or am I find tht I can respond with joy, selflessness patience, and kindness? (source)

At work I found myself many times being inconvenienced and frustrated and instead of responding with patience and kindness, I found myself lashing out with impatience and becoming angry. It is funny to see how God sometimes just shows you your fault, as they say pride goes before the fall. Just goes to show that I need to pray for more humility.

What can I say here...my dream job...I pray that when my daughter becomes an adult that she will have more aspirations then to work at a restaurant as a bikini waitress. So I guess it would be my goal in life to make sure that my daughter doesn't grow up wanting to do this. But who am I to say this isn't a true dream. It just seems to me that someone would have higher dreams then this.

For those of you who don't know this story. The women to the right here was trying to get a job at Times Square's Hawaiian Tropic Zone. As you can see she is qualified to work in this restaurant. Yet the Hawaiian Tropic zone would not give her the position.

"We will not hire you because you have a speech problem," a Hawaiian Tropic Zone manager told Morales, according to her million-dollar Manhattan Supreme Court discrimination lawsuit. "You have a Latin accent. You don't speak white."

Discrimination was the sole reason she didn't get a job, says Morales, a 21-year-old Upper West Sider whose father is Puerto Rican and mother is Dominican. On repeated trips to the restaurant, waitresses would tell her they were hiring, she said. But managers would always tell her there were no openings. Finally, in a June phone call overheard by her mother, managers named "Rick" and "Frank" spilled the truth, the lawsuit alleges. "You are ghetto," Frank allegedly told her. Morales concedes she has a Latin accent. But as a US citizen - New York-born and raised - she says her English is fine. Besides, it had been her dream, she says, to carry plates of the restaurant's signature crispy-chicken lollipops and hung beef while wearing a bikini and sarong. [source]

Shooting Film with a Kodak Duaflex

This is a camera that I purchased a while back on ebay for 35 dollars, it included 20 flash bulbs and the flash attachment. This camera is pretty cool. I takes great pictures, as you can see below. Sadly it can get expensive to both develop and digitize the negatives. But I have to say it is fun shooting with film. Makes you think twice before shooting and making sure your shot is set up correctly. Enjoy the photos below, they are of the State Capitol here in Lansing.

Mii and Bowling with my Grandmother

So today I spent the evening playing the Wii with my grandmother who is 78 years old. I was told that she loves to play bowling, so I brought my Wii over so that we could play a few games. Little did I know she is a pro at this. After the first two strikes I knew I was in for a lesson. The first game went by with her bowling a 157 and myself doing terrible with a 139. Now up to this point my mother and grandmother both told me that she had only played the Wii 4 or 5 times, but I think they have a racket going; needless to say I had to come out in the second game strong. I did so respectfully with a strike, only to have her answer with her own. She continued to keep up with me the second game until I ecked a small lead and ended with a 158 and her a 137. Sadly I was unable to play a tie breaker as my baby was fussing and needed to go home (...good timing). So tomorrow will be the decider of who is the bowling champ. The funny thing was when I was walking out the door, she told me that "don't worry I'll beat you tomorrow." So I have to say it is on grandma! Also to my aunt...how much time have you really given her on the Wii? I have to say that she is either really lucky or just darn good. Till tomorrow!

Well this is interesting, Barry Goldberg said a nice gesture went unappreciated at the Wal-Mart Supercenter at Lisbon Landing over the weekend.He said he purchased $1,300 worth of $10 gift cards to Wal-Mart with the intention of dressing as Santa Claus and giving them out in front of the store. He said it wasn’t a gimmick it or stunt. He said he was just moved to do something nice to make the holiday brighter.

“The next thing I knew, they turned to me and said, ‘You have to leave the store. You can’t do this here. You’re soliciting,’” Goldberg said. “I said, ‘I’m not soliciting anything. I’m giving.’” The out-of-work mortgage lending executive said he still has 44 gift cards left from his weekend adventure.

“They asked me, ‘Well, where did you get these cards?’” he said. “’I bought them from your store 20 minutes ago.’ ‘Well, what are you doing?’ (they asked). I said, “I’m giving out gift cards. It’s the holidays. The right thing to do is to give, isn’t it?’”In a statement to Eyewitness News, Wal-Mart states,” While we appreciate the customer’s patronage, we understand that he was interrupting the flow of foot traffic in the store’s vestibule.”Goldberg said he was contacted by Target and was told he could bring the cards to a Target store and swap them out and pass them out there. Walmart needs to really learn about giving. This is sad, at least the target said he could stand out in front of their store. You would think that Walmart would want the extra money, but I guess not.

Okay here is one of those classic WTF moments. Apparently a couple has named their child Adolf Hitler.

A US bakery has refused to decorate a three-year-old's birthday cake with his name - Adolf Hitler Campbell. The trouble, the New Jersey shop said, was that it was "inappropriate" to put such a name on the cake. But the little boy's father, Heath Campbell, said it was unfair of ShopRite supermarket to turn down his request. Heath Campbell said he named his son after Adolf Hitler because he liked the name and because "no one else in the world would have that name". [Source]

The New Jersey couple Heath and Deborah Campbell, 35, also have a daughter named JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell. Mr Campbell, who has swastikas decorating the family home and believes he is related to a former member of the SS, agrees that the Nazi’s were not a highly charitable bunch: “Yeah, they (Nazis) were bad people back then. I fell sorry for this kid, you know he is going to have issues growing up. I mean look at his parents. You would think parents would put more thought into what they named their child, but when you have a few screws loose it should be expected. Now granted, the Parents have given their son a unique name that nobody else has, yet there is a reason why nobody has used it. Sometimes it make me wonder what goes through a persons mind. The funny thing is in the end the family took their cake order to Wal-Mart who made the cake for them.

Apple Leaving Macworld!

Well this is interesting, it looks like 2009 Macworld will be Apple's last Macworld. Apple announced Tuesday that Macworld 2009 will be the last Macworld show the corporation will attend. Also in a press release, Steve Jobs will not be attending this years Macworld, which raises questions about Steve's health. Instead Apple said Philip Schiller, Apple senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, will take the CEO's place.

Apple has stated that it is pulling out of Macworld as its retail stores grow rapidly: The corporation has expanded from just two stores in 2001 to 240 retail locations worldwide to date. Before the proliferation of Apple stores, Macworld Expo was Apple's major outlet to make contact with the public and give exposure to its products. Since the Apple brand has become so popular, the company has been scaling back on trade shows, which is why Apple plans its final appearance at Macworld for 2009. Though Apple is backing out, host IDG World Expo said Macworld already still plans to return for another show in January 2010. [Source]

Wow, this is surprising! I find it interesting that Jobs will not be showing up to this macworld. From the rumors that I have read, it looks like they will be updating the Mac Mini line, which is far over due. The last time the Mini was updated was back in August of 2007. So what is the world coming to, Macworld with Apple and Jobs...? Should make for an interesting convention.

The Virgin Mary and Playboy?

There are somethings that companies should just never attempt. This is one such attempt, the Mexican December Issue of Playboy put on over their models as the Virgin Mary. The cover was released with model Maria Florencia Onori posing as the virgin. Its headline reads in Spanish: "We adore you, Mary." Now some times it makes me wonder why or who thought this would be a good idea. Needless to say the Catholics are up in arms about this.
Playboy Enterprises Inc., based in Chicago, released a statement Friday explaining that the company did not approve the cover because the Mexican version of the magazine is published by a licensee, according to Reuters. "While Playboy Mexico never meant for the cover or images to offend anyone, we recognize that it has created offense, and we as well as Playboy Mexico offer our sincerest apologies," the company said. So I came across Nikon's new advertising campaign for their new Coolpix S60. From what I have seen this is a really cool point and shoot camera. My Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

So Friday started out just like any other day with me getting up and checking up on the baby. The only problem was I got out of the house late this day. So I am rushing to work trying to mind the speed limits while watching out for cops. So when I am about 2 miles from work I hit a straight away with a passing zone. The car in front of me a older Ford truck which is blue and silver was going 25 mph, the speed limit is 35. So I decided to pass him, while I was passing him, he decides to try to speed up, but by that time I had already passed him and was on my way. Now for some reason this made him mad. He tried to speed up and tailgate me but decided against it and slow back down to his original 25 mph. So thinking nothing of it I continue on to work only to see that what looked like him following me. I didn't have time to make sure so I got my car parked and rushed into the office. Once in the office I was regaling my co-worker of the story of this guy when we both looked out the window and saw him passing in the parking lot.
So to that guy who followed me to work...do you not have a life, or are you some crazy idiot that has all the time in the world to follow people? All I can say is, your an idiot...don't stalk me...! So this is how my day started. Work didn't go much better since I was taking a half day, the time just crept by.
Now I was suppose to travel out of state to visit family, but with our baby not feeling well we decided to postpone the trip. Instead we decided to go to the Apple Store in Novi to get my Macbook for my graduate program that I am starting in January. The trip down to Novi was miserable since the weather was so bleak. The roads were wet and it was raining just enough to put a mist on the highway so that you could not see that well. But everything went fine and we got to Novi okay.
I decided since it was raining to let my wife and the baby out of the car up by the store front so they wouldn't have to walk through the rain, once they got out I went searching for a parking spot. As I was searching I came up on someone who looked like they were waiting for a parking spot, so I pulled up behind them to wait for them to park. No sooner had I gotten behind this person, that they then decided to throw their car into reverse slamming onto the gas, only to hit my car!
So to the woman who hit my car...thank you for hitting my car! Thank you for not paying attention to what you are doing and ramming my car with your stupid Lexus. My poor Chevy cried today because of your blatant disregard to anybody other than yourself.
Thank the Dear Lord above that my wife and the baby were not in the car. So I got out and checked the car it was fine no marks, bumps, dents, scratches, nothing. After that I quickly found a parking spot ran into the mall got my computer and hurried home so that I would not have any other chance of running into Murphy's law. At least the macbook made my day better.

New Camera!

So I got a couple of new cameras about two weeks ago and I finally got a chance to have the pictures developed, yes I know, I said developed. These "new" cameras are actually some pretty old camera one is a Kodak Vigilant Junior that was in WW2 and the other is a Kodak Duaflex 2. I would have to say the Vigilant is my favorite because of the looks and feel of it, though the pictures I took with it were not as good as the Duaflex. But it was a great experience taking pictures with film. This day in age we have gotten use to digital, with it's instant gratification of seeing the photo right after it is taken. With film you have to think about your shot and really have to think of composition. Below are a few of the photos that I took with these cameras.
The photo above was taken with the Duaflex 2 and the shot came out pretty nice.
This shot was taken with the Vigilant, and as you can see there is a little blurring on the out side edges. It was a fun experence to shoot with these old cameras and only solidified my wanting to shoot more with these. The only downside would be the fact that they take film, and film needs to be developed, and with that it takes money. Plus the fact that I don't have a way to digitize the negatives so I have to rely on the prints. But with all that to the side it was still a lot of fun to shoot with these. You wouldn't believe the looks that you get when you are using an old folder syle camea. So in this day and age of digital everything, its nice to; every once and a while, to just step back in time and use these cameras.

So I had a chance to go the the MSU - Wisconsin game today, and I have to say it was a great game. I came down to the last play of the game to decide the winner. It was great to see Swenson kicking a 44-yard field goal with 7 seconds left in the game which made it 25 to 24. The game was a little slow at first and Wisconsin dominated the whole game, but MSU was able to squeak by by just a one point win over them. All I have to say is it was a great game and a great day with both MSU winning and U-of-M losing.

Well it looks like everybody is trying to cash in on the election this year, even video game companies. EA today announced that, as part of an upcoming update for Mercenaries 2, both Sarah Palin and Barack Obama will be made available as playable characters. Palin in her trademark red jacket and hair, Obama in his trademark...suit. This is a little crazy, but pretty darn funny if you ask me. I like watching Palin kick butt in the video below. Take a look.

So after watching this, do you think people are going to far with this, or is this all in good fun? I guess it good in a sense if it get people out there to vote for what they believe in, but I guess we will see what happens.

It Feels like Christmas!

So this one I have to thank /Film for finding. jCauty&SON are holding a Splatter exhibition at The Aquarium in London. The multi-media art show focuses on “the plausible impossibility of death in the mind of cartoon characters”.
Not sure really what to say to this...the only thing is WTF. Something as simple at the WB cartoons being portrayed like this is crazy. Now I know that that the cartoons were violent and that they were always trying to kill each other, but at the end usually everybody was okay. I guess that just kind of ruins them for me. Some consider this art, I appeantly don't see it. What do you think?

Wii Would Like to Play!

So I picked up a Wii last week and have been enjoying it ever since. Last night while wasting some time I decided to download the classic Punch-Out game with Mr. Dream. The game was great. I love the fact that I can download these classic game onto the Wii and play them again. I downloaded Super Mario Brothers 3 a couple of days ago, talk about bringing back my childhood. That game was released backed in 1990. All I have to say is that its nice to see Nintendo giving people the ability to play these classic games. I am excited though about a new game that they are coming out with soon. It looks like they are going to re-release Punch-Out with updated graphics, check out the trailer below.

I think the updates look awesome, and I am looking forward to playing this. I have to say thank you to Brandon for showing this to me.

Now granted I didn't win first place, but it was great to take home this nice trophy for judges choice award. Crossroads Village and my Saturday

So we took our baby girl out today to Crossroads Village for some trick or treating. I was a lot of fun, except our baby girl slept through the hole thing, but it was still great to see her in her costume. The one thing is we never did get a picture of her in her outfit, so I have to dress her up again so I can get a picture of her. I did get some pictures from the day and a small video. The pictures below are not the highest quality because they are not the raw photos, they were jpg's that were created beside the raw. So I am hoping to get some time to work on the raw photos in the next couple of days. So we will see how they turn out. Enjoy the video and photos.

Well we are about two weeks away from the election and more and more people are starting to come out and endorse their choice candidate. Ron Howard with Andy Griffith and Henry Winkler made a video endorsing Obama. Now I don't see myself as a very political man, I don't favor one side for the other, I just vote what I believe in. Now with that said, I am getting so tired of seeing and hearing all this commercials about this election, I will be glad when this is over. The reason I am posting this, is becuse it was a ginueinly good concept. I liked how they went back and recreated these old shows for this. Let me know what you think!

So, I'm not sure about this, but I don't think I would pay $79.00 for this. Its a classic NES game mounted in a shadow box frame. Now I don't think I would pay 79.00 for this since I could do this myself, but why would someone want to mount a game in a frame, why not just get a classic system and play the game. Don't get me wrong, I do find this kind of cool, but not cool enough to pay 79.00 for it. Carmen Ohio

Though I was glad to see Ohio State win, it was only a bitter sweet victory because MSU lost. The positive for today is that Michigan lost to Penn State. I am looking forward to Spartans meeting up with the Wolverines next week and I hope that the Spartans will kick them up and down the field. So to all my Spartan friends, I hope this helps to ease the pain.

I Am Back

Well it's been a little while and I have been getting use to having a little one around the house and now I am back to work. So looks like everything is going back to normal, or the closest thing to normal. But the cool thing is fall is here which means the trees are changing and the weather is getting cooler. I am looking forward to Halloween, we got M a nice Halloween costume, she is going to be a kitty. Should be interesting. You would think that I was having the baby by this picture! Fast food has been hard on me...lol... Well just to catch everybody up on what has been going on. So far we have had 3 false alarms. Last night being one of them. As you can imagine that is why I haven't been posting much, plus work has been crazy again. So, we are about 3 days away from a full 37 weeks, and I don't think the baby is going to wait for the full term. Though we have been told by the Doctor that he would have no problem taking the baby now if she came. So now we wait and watch the clock, which in my opinion is getting old. I can imagine what S is going through. So I expect that something is going to happen soon.

Well Saturday proved to be to much for me as the Buckeyes took to the field. It was a sad day for all Buckeye fans as USC dominated the whole game. All I can say is GO Bucks! Hopefully they will have a better week this week. So long as the beat Michigan in the November Game. So to all the Buckeyes out there. I hope this eases the sting a little.

Just a little more to make my day a little better.

Don LaFontaine was the Babe Ruth of Hollywood voice over actors. He single-handedly creating the field back in the 1960’s and lent his voice to over 5,000 movie trailers and nearly 350,000 commercials throughout his career. LaFontaine died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on September 1st following complications from Pneumothorax, he was 68.

This is sad, he was "The Voice", I hope that some one can fill his shoes, but I don't think it will be possible.

Wow, they are pulling out all the stops for this game, they have a ton of great celebrities. Plus the fact of how the game play looks. This movie was great, the actors, the directing, everything was great about this movie. As long as you don't mind reading subtitles I would suggest this movie. The movie starts out with Traudl Junge getting a job as Hitler's personal secretary 2 1/2 years before the raid on Berlin. It fast forwards to the last days of Hitler where he lived out his final moments in the bunker. I just can't say enough of this movie, it was amazing to see. Below is the international trailer.

Video Games

I am always amazed at how video games have progressed. To see were they began to were we are now. One such game called Heavenly Sword a PS3 game that is just a great game all around, is one such game that amazes me. I love to see how they now have added in plot into games and the realism that is displayed in most games is breath taking. Below is some are from the game.
Now the game has a pretty good plot. You play Nariko a female protagonist who is trying to save her clan from destruction from some bad guys. Nariko who is entrusted with the Heavenly Sword [a sword that was crafted in heaven for an angel] uses the sword to help save her clan. This game is pretty much a button mashing game with a few obstacles\puzzles that you have to solve. The game is great and I had a fun time playing it.

This movie looks like it going to be a great movie, especially since it has some great actors. I like Brad Pitt he always does a great job in his movies. It also has Cate Blanchett who played the bad guy in the recent Indiana Jones movie. I am curious to see how the do this movie, but from the trailer it looks like its going to be great.
