Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

Labels: ,

EA announced at its Leipzig Games Convention press conference today additional details on the cast of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, including the casting of Jenny McCarthy, pictured, as Tanya, the staple special ops unit. But that's not all. The leaders of the three factions -- Allies, Empire of the Rising Sun and the Soviet Union -- will be played by JK Simmons, George Takei and Tim Curry, respectively. [Source]

Wow, they are pulling out all the stops for this game, they have a ton of great celebrities. Plus the fact of how the game play looks. I have always loved the Red Alert games and this looks like it won't disappoint. The fact that they have Tim Curry is awesome, I remember him in Movies like Clue and The Three Musketeers. J.K. Simmons who plays on the Closer, plus they have Jenny McCarthy, can't beat that. The last thing I can say, is....George Takei...

Gemma Atkinson as Lt Eva McKenna

Der Untergang

Labels:

"In April of 1945, Germany stands at the brink of defeat with the Russian Army closing in from the east and the Allied Expeditionary Force attacking from the west. In Berlin, capital of the Third Reich, Adolf Hitler proclaims that Germany will still achieve victory and orders his Generals and advisers to fight to the last man. "Downfall" explores these final days of the Reich, where senior German leaders (such as Himmler and Goring) began defecting from their beloved Fuhrer, in an effort to save their own lives, while still others (Joseph Goebbels) pledge to die with Hitler. Hitler, himself, degenerates into a paranoid shell of a man, full of optimism one moment and suicidal depression the next. When the end finally does comes, and Hitler lies dead by his own hand, what is left of his military must find a way to end the killing that is the Battle of Berlin, and lay down their arms in surrender. [Source]

This movie was great, the actors, the directing, everything was great about this movie. As long as you don't mind reading subtitles I would suggest this movie. The movie starts out with Traudl Junge getting a job as Hitler's personal secretary 2 1/2 years before the raid on Berlin. It fast forwards to the last days of Hitler where he lived out his final moments in the bunker. I just can't say enough of this movie, it was amazing to see. Below is the international trailer.

Here is clip from the movie, Hitler finds out the Himmler defected to the Allis.

Video Games

Labels:

I am always amazed at how video games have progressed. To see were they began to were we are now. One such game called Heavenly Sword a PS3 game that is just a great game all around, is one such game that amazes me. I love to see how they now have added in plot into games and the realism that is displayed in most games is breath taking. Below is some are from the game.
Now the game has a pretty good plot. You play Nariko a female protagonist who is trying to save her clan from destruction from some bad guys. Nariko who is entrusted with the Heavenly Sword [a sword that was crafted in heaven for an angel] uses the sword to help save her clan. This game is pretty much a button mashing game with a few obstacles\puzzles that you have to solve. The game is great and I had a fun time playing it.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Labels: ,

"The film centers on a man who, at age 50, begins aging backward and the complications that ensue when he falls in love with a woman of 30. "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is a 1922 short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The protagonist 'Benjamin Button' is born as a feeble old man, and ages in reverse until he becomes a baby at the end of his life."

This movie looks like it going to be a great movie, especially since it has some great actors. I like Brad Pitt he always does a great job in his movies. It also has Cate Blanchett who played the bad guy in the recent Indiana Jones movie. I am curious to see how the do this movie, but from the trailer it looks like its going to be great.

The Spirit

Labels: ,

Looks like Frank Miller is at it again. Down these mean streets a man must come. A hero born, murdered, and born again. When a Rookie cop named Denny Colt returns from the beyond as The Spirit, a hero whose mission is to fight against the bad forces from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face who has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this cold hearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader. A great plus is Scarlett Johannsson is in the movie. Below is the trailer, I think it looks pretty interesting, though I think the comic book movies are starting to get played out a little bit.

Sexual harassment is necessary in Russia

Labels: , ,

At least that's what a judge ruled in Russia. A Russian advertising executive who sued her boss for sexual harassment lost her case after a judge ruled that employers were obliged to make passes at female staff to ensure the survival of the human race. According to the judge "if we had no sexual harassment we would have no children." [Source]

Wow...this is kind of sad that they would rule in favor of the employer...I know that they were holding "love rallies" for teens, but wow, this is just surprising to me that the courts would rule this way. We all need to take heed to Hayden's message below.

The New Lara Croft....

Labels:

Now I remember when the first Tomb Raider game came out of Playstation, and I can remember when Angelina Jolie stared in the Tomb Raider Movies. So it seems like Lara Croft will be one of those enduring characters that seem to last forever. Like James Bond and Indiana Jones, Lara Croft seems to have risen from what was into a new younger character. Ladies and Gentleman let me introduce you to the new Lara Croft, Alison Carroll, a professional display gymnast from the Croydon area of London, England, who has performed in front of Prince Charles himself. Miss Carroll beat out hundreds of applicants for the role of Lara Croft, the new position allowing her to quit her day job as a receptionist. She's now undergoing a rigorous daily training schedule to make sure she is ready to pose next to red-faced fans, far too nervous to notice what seems to be a scar on her left knee or the well-placed mole, not that I was paying attention. Tom Izzo and Online Learning

Labels: ,

Freely admitting that he wasnt an online learning expert, Michigan State University head basketball coach Tom Izzo still motivated a roomful of Michigan Virtual School(TM) (MVS(TM)) online teachers, sharing his own history and expertise as an educator, motivator and coach during an event at MSUs Henry Center on Wednesday. (Source)

I know that I am posting this way to late, but this was an awesome event. I got the pleasure of meeting Mr. Izzo during his keynote speech at the Collab of the Minds. His speech was very though invoking. He related that teachers can't just punch the time clock, but have to be willing and able to go the extra mile for their students. Tom Izzo is/was very skeptical of online learning but feels there are more pluses than minuses. For the few moments that I met him I can see why his players respect him so much.
