Reality T.V., Have we gone to far?
Many of you have probably heard of or have seen the show “The Moment of Truth.” I saw it for the first time the other day. I happened to watch episode 5 which was very controversial. It was interesting to see this, makes me wonder if we have gone to far?
For those of you who haven’t heard of or seen this show, it premise is that the host asks the contestant questions that they have already answered on a polygraph. Some of these questions can be very personal.
In this episode the contestant had her mother, father, sister, brother and husband. Some of the questions ranged from one end of the spectrum, (i.e. do you think you are a good person) to the other end (i.e. have you cheated on your husband.)
My question is have we gone to far for entertainment? Is this even considered entertainment, the humiliation of a person on television? I can remember family t.v. with Full House and Family Matters. I for one feel like my life has enough reality in it and don’t need a t.v. show to show me more.

I can't stand "reality" shows. In my entire life, I've never been strapped to a lie detector in front of hundreds of people, or forced to eat rats on an island. Doesn't seem very "real" to me.
The thing that bothers me most about the Moment of Truth is the fact that the contestant acts so shocked when they hear the question read to them by the host, as if they've never heard it before. They've already been asked the question previously... so no one should be surprised at any question. BS!

I agree, he kept saying to her on the show that she knew what questions she was asked, and she just kept going.

I haven't seen this so, but I've seen the commercials for it and it looks like the type of reality that I don't really like, in other words, it's fake, just like all the so-called reality shows. Give me a good story, from real life or from somebody's imagination and I'll tune in. But as for reality shows, I'll pass.
