Bottoms Bear Message

Labels: ,

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Thirteen members of a high school lacrosse team have been disciplined for baring their bottoms on which was written a prom invitation from one player to a girl. Carolyn Campbell, a senior at Huron High School, accepted the invitation to go to the prom with fellow senior Kristoff Wennersten. The varsity lacrosse players displayed the question, "Will You Go To The Prom With Me? Yes or No?" on their bottoms, which they bared during a junior varsity game last Thursday. Officials suspended the 13 players for an undetermined number of games and ordered them to perform 20 hours of community service. They also were suspended from school for one day. "Inappropriate is inappropriate," school athletic director Dottie Davis told The Ann Arbor News. "It disrespects women, and that's the clear message we need to have the students understand — what may be fun to them isn't necessarily fun to everyone else." [Source]

So do you believe that these student should be suspended? Part of me says yes and another part says no. First of all they didn't hurt anybody, but they did show themselves inappropriately. This one is a hard one, yeah it was done in good fun, but you can't just go and show your bum to the whole world and not expect to get in trouble for it. What's your thoughts?

How about some guitar hero for today. It takes a little bit of practice, but once you get a hang of it, its pretty easy.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Labels:

Well it looks like they are releasing another Mummy movie. Now I was a fan of both of the movies, and I am looking forward to the new one. Though they have a new actress for Evelyn, instead of having Rachel Weisz, they have Maria Bello who is pictured here. It will be interesting to see how the movie is without Rachel. But on a positive note, it does have Jet Li, so this should be a decent movie...I hope. You never know with sequels. So I am hoping that they don't mess this one up.

Premise:
The O'Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service. Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have laid forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents. As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force...unless the O'Connells can stop him first.

Old World Meets Present Day

It's amazing to see old world next to present day. Like these two ships pictured above. I sometimes wonder what I would be like to be in that era of great wooden ships. Would it be any different from living in todays world? Would it be harder, or easier?

My Weekend and Lessons Learned

Labels:

Isn't it always interesting how some weekend you can go with out a single event going on in your life and then others you live and learn new lessons in life. Well that was the case with this weekend. My first lesson was on Friday when I tried to mow the lawn with my new mower. So I proceeded to put the gas in the mower and start it up, but when I did the mower engine started to surge, going from the point where the engine was about to die to almost sounding like it is going to blow up. I decided to take it back to where I got it, Home Depot. The sad thing is that I couldn't find my receipt, so when I took it back they weren't going to give me my money back, but, they did and gave me my money back. So Saturday I took back the old mower and got a new one at Sears. So my first lesson was "you get what you paid for." Sadly this isn't all that happened this weekend, I came home about late on Saturday, just to get a call right after I got home hearing that my wife was being rushed to the emergency room. Apparently she was taking care of a patient and the patient got violent and kicked her in the stomach. Now if you don't know, she is about 17 weeks pregnant! So as you can imagine, I was pretty freaked out about this, rushed to the hospital only to end up waiting. When they did wait on my wife it took them five minutes to find the baby's heartbeat. It was the longest five minutes of my life. But they finally did and after four hours they released us. So today I have tried to remain as low key as possible. luckily, my wife is doing okay and the baby seems to be fine. That was my weekend, and I just glad that the weekend is over.

Police officer sacked for sex on the job

Labels: ,

A London police officer was forced to resign on Wednesday for having sex with a prostitute at a building he had been sent to investigate to see if it was a brothel. The police sergeant, who was not named, had "engaged in sexual activity with a sex worker" while on duty in east London in December 2005, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said. He was supposed to be finding out if the premises were being used for prostitution. [Source]

This is mildly amusing, the office at least did find out that it was a brothel, so he did do his job...just not the way they though he would. Must have taken some real detective work...Now if only they had Nicholas Angel on the case this would have never happened!

Wesley Snipes Gets 3 Years

Labels:

Well it looks like another celebrity is going to jail. Wesley Snipes is getting 3 years for for failing to file income taxes. He insisted he never had to pay the taxes, but the action star cut the federal government three checks for $5 million. At first the prosecutors were so taken aback that they first declined the cash. But by the end of the day, the government took the money and more — a maximum three-year sentence for its highest-profile criminal tax target in decades.

"The sentencing court sends the right message to the American taxpayer — you've got to pay your taxes," U.S. Attorney Robert O'Neill told reporters outside the usually quiet central Florida courthouse. "Rich, poor, it doesn't matter. We all pay our taxes." Snipes' attorneys argued the sentence was too stiff for a first-time offender convicted of three misdemeanors, and recommended he be given home detention and ordered to make public service announcements. But U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges said Snipes exhibited a "history of contempt over a period of time" for U.S. tax laws. "In my mind these are serious crimes, albeit misdemeanors," Hodges said. [Source]

Well, this is interesting, I do believe that they are making an example of Snipes by giving him 3 years, but it just goes to show, you have to pay taxes. I don't always agree with having to pay taxes, but you know what they say, "only thing certain in life is death and taxes." But in the long run I don't think that by making an example of Snipes is going to do anything to deter people from not paying their taxes. But that's just my opinion.

Classic Beauty - Christina Aguilera

Labels:

What can I say, but wow. These are photos from Christina's GQ shoot a while back, before she was pregnant. Christina is a beautiful woman, and has that classy look to her. Her recent CD Back to Basics was a decent CD. I loved how she took some classic sounds and incorporated them into her music. "Candyman" and "Ain't No Other Man" had a nice 40's style big band feeling to it. Both my wife and myself like her music and my wife loves her looks and she has that classic look. It's just interesting to see her compared to Brittany Spears, both came into music at the same time, and look at where both of them are at. I know these are a little bit more edgy then what I usually post, but I find these pictures classy and not to over the top, so enjoy.

Late Evening

Labels:

Just another late evening in my household, my wife is at work and I am getting ready to turn into bed. It has been interesting the past week, my wife has been off from work with an injury. Now I say interesting because we haven't had time together like this since we were first married. It's been nice! I never really realized how nice it is to have some one to come home to and to share an evening with. Sometimes I realize myself taking advantage of this time that I have with her. So for myself I going to make sure that I make the best of the time that I have with anybody since I might not have it again.

Francis Park

Labels: ,

Well, I had the evening to myself tonight and I found myself wanting to work on taking pictures. So I decided to go to Francis Park in Lansing. I am glad that I did, it was beautiful! I have never been there, but I do plan on going back and taking Steph with me also, I know she would love it there. At first I wasn't going to go, but I forced myself to venture over there. The moment I parked my car and started to walk around I was glad. I was beautiful and quite, and it gave me many opportunities to take some wonderful pictures. Now for some reason and I don't know if all people feel this way, but sometimes I feel like I have no where to take photos, when I take pictures around my house I don't want my neighbors to think that I just some crazy guy out taking pictures of everything around the neighborhood. Oh well...I guess I'll be the crazy guy in the neighborhood. I think I am going to try a cemetery as my next forum, it's kind of morbid, but they do have a life to them, should be interesting. I've posted a few of the pictures I took today here, the rest are at my Flickr account. Let me know what you think.

Just some pictures that I took recently. I have a small collection of old hymnals and ritual books. Most are 80-90 years old, I even have a German Lutheran Hymnal from 1876. Something just amazing about opening an old book like this. Also I just made a photo book that you can buy if you like. So check it out here.

Classic Beauty - Veronica Lake

Labels:

Just another classic beauty, Veronica Lake, who was a popular was a popular American film actress and pin-up model who enjoyed both popular and critical acclaim, most notably for her femme fatale roles in film noir with Alan Ladd during the 1940s, as well as her iconic hairstyle. It just seems like Hollywood was very glamorous back in the 40's and 50's. To bad it isn't like that any more.

Avenue Q

Labels: ,

Well I just got back from seeing Avenue Q and I have to say it was hilarious. This show was great. If you don't know about the show, here is the premise.

AVENUE Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbors seem nice. There's Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fianceé Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod -- a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?!? (Yes, that Gary Coleman.) Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.[Source]

This play was excellent, I didn't stop laughing the whole time I was watching. From songs such as, "If You Were Gay," "The Internet is for Porn," and seeing puppets having sex, this was a non stop laugh out loud musical. I would certainly go see it again. Check out below I was able to find the internet is for porn song on youtube.

G.I. Joe

Labels: ,

Well this certainly not new news, but I'm am looking forward to seeing this on the big screen. We all remember G.I. Joe. I remember watching the cartoon on Saturday mornings and also having some of the action figures. Now when I heard that they were making a live action movie of this I thought that it was going to be hokey and stupid, but as they have been releasing production still, I'm really getting excited. A couple of weeks back they released the still of Snake Eyes [Ray Park], and now they have released the photo of Scarlett [Rachel Nichols]. If these still are any indication of how the movie is going to be, it looks like its going to be worth seeing. I've posted the synopsis that they have so far below. Let me know what you think.

While some remember the character from its gung-ho fighting man '60s incarnation, he's evolved. G.I. Joe is now a Brussels-based outfit that stands for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, an international co-ed force of operatives who use hi-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil organization headed by a double-crossing Scottish arms dealer. The property is closer in tone to "X-Men" and James Bond than a war film.

I have also found this, now I'm not sure if these are all production photos, but they look like it, but I haven't seen them any where else. Take a look here.

WALL•E

I really looking forward to this, it looks like pixar did a great job on this. Though it does look like Jonny Number 5 from Short Circuit. I will say this, the movie isn't what I thought it was going to be. Looks like it going to have a love story theme in the movie, should be interesting.

Great Day!

Labels:

Nothing like a nice spring day, right now I am sitting outside on my little porch enjoying the nice weather. It is sunny and 75 with a nice little breeze that keeps you cool in the sun. It wasn't long ago that we had about 8 inches of snow sitting on the ground and it was bitterly cold out, and it will be soon that it is just to hot to do anything, so right now I believe that it is perfect for just sitting outside and enjoying nature. You never know, I might get some time to take a few pictures, but we will see. So to all of you, I hope that you are having a lazy afternoon enjoying the weather.

Marilyn Monroe...Sex Tape?

Labels:

Well it looks like no celebrity is immune to this problem, even if they are dead. An illicit copy of the steamy, still-FBI-classified reel - 15 minutes of 16mm film footage in which the original blond bombshell performs oral sex on an unidentified man - was just sold to a New York businessman for $1.5 million, said Keya Morgan, the well-known memorabilia collector who discovered the film and brokered its purchase. The footage appears to have been shot in the 1950s. When it came to light in the mid-'60s, then-FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover had his agents spend two weeks futilely trying to prove that Monroe's sex partner was either John F. Kennedy or Robert F. Kennedy, according to declassified agency documents and interviews, Morgan said. Morgan said he discovered the film while doing research for a documentary on Monroe, after talking with a former FBI agent who told him about a confidential informant who tipped G-men to the existence of the film in the mid-'60s. The feds eventually confiscated the original footage - but not before the informant made a copy of it, which is what was just sold by his son, Morgan said. Last month, he brokered its sale, leading the informant's son to a wealthy New York businessman who wants to keep this unseemly part of Monroe's past buried. "He said he's just going to lock it up," Morgan said. "He said, 'I'm not going to make a Paris Hilton out of her. I'm not going to sell it, out of respect.'"[Source]

Sadly this doesn't surprise me, I think that this is a prerequisite for becoming famous, though I not sure. The question that I have is why would you make one, and if you make one why would you let it out of your sight? Not that it matters in this case , but I'm glad to see that this guy isn't going to plaster this all over the internet. It is refreshing to see someone how will respect a persons privacy, even if they have passed away. So kudos to him for having so scruples. In my opinion somethings should just be left alone.

Itialian Porn Star Uses Her Seat to Gain a Seat

Labels: , ,

She had no desire to be just another smiling face in Italian politics. So when porn star Milly D'Abbraccio designed her campaign posters, it was obvious she was going to show off her bottom. Targeting her male fan base, the veteran of Italy's adult entertainment industry has plastered images of her derriere all around the Eternal City in a bid to win a seat in Rome's city hall. D'Abbraccio hopes to capitalise on increasing disenchantment with Italian politics. The recession-prone nation votes on Sunday and Monday in elections to pick a prime minister as well as lawmakers, mayors and city councillors. "People don't want to see these politicians' faces anymore," she told Reuters in an interview from her Rome apartment. She said she was tapping into her popularity among pornography fans as "an act of generosity" to help Italy's socialists, who are fielding her in the municipal race. "I am the derriere of the Socialist party," she concluded.

If elected, D'Abbraccio wants to create a red light area with strip clubs, erotic discos and sex shops called "Love City" just kilometres away from the Vatican."It would be something cute, clean -- nothing to do with prostitution," said the actress whose films include "The Kiss of the Cobra" and "Paolina Borghese, Imperial Nymphomaniac". If D'Abbraccio wins, she says she will represent Romans from the district that is home to Cinecitta studios, Italy's version of Hollywood where classics like "La Dolce Vita" were filmed. "I will reign over Cinecitta, if I get the votes," she said, reclining on a gold-rimmed, chaise lounge in her living room. [Source]

As always, there is always something interesting to talk about. Just makes me wonder what we would do if one of our Adult Porn Stars were to run for office, now I'm not talking about just state office, remember the porn star that ran against the Terminator in California, no I'm talking about something major like President. It would certainly make politics more interesting. The other candidates really wouldn't be able to do a smear campaign would they... Now with Milly I think it was interesting and somewhat smart of her to use her "assets" to help further her campaign. I do not believe that her wanting to open a red light district by the Vatican will help her campaign at all, but things are different in Italy so I'm not sure what it will do. So what do you think? Do you think that he ad campaign was a good idea or do you think it will inevitably hurt her chances of being viewed as a serious candidate? Only time will tell.

Vinyl LP vs. Digital

Labels: ,

I don't know about you, but I feel that sometimes Vinyl just sounds better than Digital. I love my iPod and the convenience that it provides, I love the fact that I can go a find any song i want on-line, but for some reason it just nice to listen to a vinyl record. The feel of the record when you put in on the turntable, the needle when it touches the record, and then the wonderful sound, yep, nothing like a vinyl LP.

Hungry Little Guy!

Labels: ,

This was a picture perfect moment, with the weather getting better I have seen more and more critters out and about in my neighborhood. Especially squirrels! This little guy was hungry, he spent about 45 minutes getting into the neighbors bird feeder. I found it quite amusing to watch it trying to get some lunch. Only if it knew that my other neighbor just throws the bird feed on the ground it wouldn't have to work so hard.

I Love You!

Hey Goober,

Malena

Labels:

I just finished watching the movie Malena with Monica Bellucci, she also played in the Matrix and the Marovingian's Wife. This film is a foreign film from Italy. I first saw this movie a couple of days ago, but it was the cut version for America, but I was able to get a hold on the original version and found it to be better then the cut version. The film in my opinion was great, it had a great story line. I found myself drawn to the two main characters, Malena and Renato, and the trails that each of them are going through. You see Renato who is in the movie going from innocence into manhood. Malena suffers the trials of losing loved ones and the jealous women of the town. The soundtrack was equally great, I found that it added to the ambiance of the whole film. If you don't mind watching a movie that requires you to read subtitles I would suggest this one. Though it is rated R and has a fair amount of nudity and adult situations, it was still a decent movie.

Plot - On the day in 1940 that Italy enters the war, two things happen to the 12-year-old Renato: he gets his first bike, and he gets his first look at Malèna, a beautiful, silent outsider who's moved to this Sicilian town to be with her husband Nico who promptly goes off to war, leaving her to the lustful eyes of the men and the sharp tongues of the women. During the next few years, as Renato grows toward manhood, he watches Malèna suffer and prove her mettle: her loneliness, then grief when Nico is reported dead, the effects of slander on her relationship with her father, her poverty and search for work, and final humiliations. Will Renato learn courage from Malèna and stand up for her? [Source] - If you want to read the entire plot I've linked it here.

The rumor is though, that the director Tornatore describes this film not as a "coming of age" picture (that in essence is what Paradiso is) but rather an allegory of Italy's foray into war and fascism as seen through the eyes of an innocent (in this case Tornatore himself). Malena represents all that Italy was and is to him, both beautiful, easily misled, and misunderstood, and the climatic scene in which she is beaten down is in essence what happened to the country post Mussolini and WWII. Just food for thought

Michigan Roads!

Labels:

I was on my way home today trying to think of a topic to write about, something that would be half way interesting, especially since news has been kind of slow lately. Well as I was thinking about what to write about my car hit on of those huge potholes that you fin on Mt. Hope, as I about jarred my car to pieces and realized that I'm probably going to need a front end alignment, it go me thinking about how the roads are in Lansing, let alone the rest of the state. I venture down Mt. Hope everyday to get to work and I have found myself veering and serving to miss the endless obstacle of all the potholes. It is sad how bad the state of the roads have gotten in Lansing. Which apparently I'm not the only one. It seems that the City has allocated 3 million to repair the roads, but 3 million isn't going as far as it use to...inflation sucks! Asphalt is used to patch these monstrous potholes, but asphalt is a petroleum product which means as gas goes up so does the cost of asphalt. It's really getting sad to see how much is tied to oil and gas anymore. But at least we should start seeing some relief from the potholes. [Source]

Eight Teens Arrested for Beating a Fellow Student

Labels:

Well this seems to be gaining steam in the press. It quite sad to see this happen. Take a look at the video.

Victoria Lindsay was attacked on March 30 by six teenage girls when she arrived at a friend's home, authorities said. One of the girls struck the 16-year-old victim on the head several times and then slammed her head into a wall, knocking her unconscious, according to an arrest report. Later, according to a clip of the video that was released by the Polk County sheriff's office, the teens can be seen blocking a door and hitting Victoria. "It's absolutely an animalistic attack," Sheriff Grady Judd said Tuesday on NBC's "Today." "They lured her into the home for express purpose of filming the attack and posting it on the Internet." All eight suspects were arrested April 2 and charged with battery and false imprisonment. The three teens who took Lindsay to the second location are also charged with felony kidnapping. Lindsay was treated for a concussion, damage to her left eye and left ear, and numerous bruises, police said. [Source]

This is disturbing, why do people feel the need to do this kind of stuff. These teenagers need to be tried as adults. What they have done is as the sheriff said "animalistic." I just don't get why someone would have that much hate in themselves that they could do this to another individual. What do you think? Should these teens be tried as adults?

Pin Up Art

Labels: ,

So with the recent post of Rita Hayworth, it got me thinking about how I like pin up art. I think it is very classy, the women are beautiful with out being to revealing. Here are a few of the ones that I have stumbles upon. Some are the classic pin up are and some are newer ones that I have found. Some people think that these are degrading to women. I don't think that it is, I think it almost conveys a certain type of innocence, almost like they don't realize what they are doing. Almost naive. Let me know what you think.
